Bolingbrook High School senior Terrence Obeng placed second in the Medical Office Procedures division at the Business Professionals of America’s (BPA) State Leadership Conference & Competition.
Nearly 800 student delegates representing 40 schools from throughout the state attended the Leadership Conference. Obeng competed against 30 other students and was required to not only know different medical terms and procedures, but also had to produce two different documents for her 60-minute competition.
She earned a medal and a plaque and is eligible to represent Illinois at BPA’s National Leadership Conference May 8-11 in Orlando where some 5,000 other student delegates from across the nation participating in national level business skills competitions and leadership workshops.
Hannah Wiafe of Bolingbrook High School also attended the Leadership Conference and competed in Banking and Finance and Advanced Word Processing Skills.
