Mayor John Noak, more than just a mayor!
I lost my job a few years ago and had a hard time finding employment. I've lived in Romeoville for 10 years and have built two houses here. I have a wonderful family that includes two young daughters. I couldn't bear the fact that I might lose my house if I didn't find a job soon.
I've always had a hobby and a dream of opening my own Cheesecake Business one day. With no jobs on the horizon, I figured I would work on my cheesecake business. I contacted the mayor's office just to find out some info on starting my own business in Romeoville. I was surprised that Mayor Noak personally contacted me and invited me to have a sit-down chat in his office to see how he could help. I was blown away by his friendliness and eagerness to help.
I arrived with one of my cheesecakes and he immediately shared it with everyone. We chatted about how to promote my business and what I should think about when starting. I also got to meet all the Trustees like Dave Richards and Brian Clancy. They also shared an interest in my cheesecakes and helped me any way they could!
Mayor Noak helped me with a list of Romeoville employees that could steer me in the right direction to open my business. I met the Community Development director and he introduced me to the inspectors and a whole slew of staff that could help me on my way to success. I've lived in a few villages before Romeoville and they never helped liked Romeoville staff helped! I knew I had to do what I could to start my business in Romeoville and Romeoville staff gave me the confidence to build my dream.
I found part-time work and eventually incorporated my business. Now I'm working on the business loan side so I can open a store soon in Romeoville. Mayor Noak wants new business in Romeoville and he works very hard to attract them. I'm so happy to be a Romeoville resident and future Romeoville small business owner?
