Five candidates faced off for four open seats on the Plainfield School District Board of Education.
In the end, incumbents Rod Westfall and Michelle Smith will return to the board, while newcomers William Slabich Jr. and Bill Dargan won the two remaining spots.
Just more than 100 votes separated Slabich from P. Anne Walchshauser, who did not win a seat on the board.
Dargan, a sales manager for Hostess Brands, first ran for the board in 2011.
Meanwhile, Slabich, a 12-year resident of Plainfield, made his first run for office.
Full vote tallies from Will and Kendall counties.
