The National Weather Service in Romeoville has issued a hazardous weather outlook, predicting a series of thunderstorms Wednesday that could produce very heavy rain, frequent lightning and hail the size of nickels. Isolated wind gusts of up to 60 mph are also possible, according to the NWS.
After a wave of early morning showers, more storms are likely to move across the Romeoville area Wednesday afternoon before the threat of thunderstorms increases again Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Some areas could get more than two inches of rain by Thursday morning, according to the NWS.
Another round of storms could make its way through the area Thursday, according to the weather outlook.
