Lextech Global Services’ Chief Geek and CEO Alex Bratton will present “Mobile Technology is Changing the World. Are You Ready?” at 6 p.m. Sept. 26 in the University Dining Room on the Lewis University Main Campus in Romeoville.

The event is free and open to the public.

Bratton’s experience founding nine successful tech companies and advising countless startups has uniquely positioned him to understand the implications of mobility with both technology and business in mind. His message is simple: Mobility is here. Are you ready?

Bratton will share mobile app success stories and lessons learned about:

•      How the touchscreen is taking over,

•      How mobility is changing the way businesses and consumers operate, and

•      Statistics you should know about major mobile platforms.

After his presentation, Lewis University will be dedicating a new computer science area. Located just off of the New Science Center, the renovated facility features four new state-of-the-art computer labs.

The Mathematical Computing Lab will focus on teaching and investigating mathematical concepts using computers. The Networking and Security Lab will host instruction in the design and implementation of computer networks and processes by which computer systems can be made secure against cyber attack. The Software Development Lab will focus on teaching students a variety of programming and software development techniques. Finally, the ubiquitous computing lab will explore issues related to non-traditional computing platforms, including mobile and embedded systems.

The new area also houses offices for department faculty and a new reception area.
