With the 2012-13 School Year coming to a close, Valley View School District 365U officials will hold two interactive Community Forums later this month to continue conversations about the progress of The New View and to take a look at what’s ahead.
Featured at the May 21 Community Forum at Lukancic Middle School in Romeoville and the May 23 Community Forum at Bolingbrook High School will be an overview of VVSD’s new Strategic Plan which was unveiled at Monday night’s School Board meeting. Attendees of the 6:30 p.m. sessions will also receive an easy-to-read summary of the District Strategic Plan.
But the Strategic Plan isn’t the only thing on the agenda for the Community Forums. Parents and community members will go home from both sessions filled with information on how VVSD is putting children “on the road to success.”
Conversations will take place regarding:
- The exciting differences in VVSD’s curriculum as we head into the 2013-14 school year
- Plans to make VVSD an educational technology leader
- VVSD’s ongoing efforts to move forward despite today’s financial climate
Plus, once VVSD Superintendent Dr. James Mitchem and his team have finished their brief updates, parents and community members will have an opportunity to communicate their expectations to district officials as the New View heads into Year 3.
Free child care will be provided at both forums. Light refreshments will be served.
English/Spanish interpreters will be available.
