A Romeoville man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after Frankfort police found a bottle of antidepressants in the car he was driving during a traffic stop.

Christopher A. Cleaver, 23, of 1913 Somerset Court, was arrested at about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 9 by the Frankfort Police Department. He was also issued citations for driving with a suspended license and no insurance.

According to department records, police were dispatched to an address near the intersection of Brown Drive and Charrington Drive in response to a harassment call. Cleaver had allegedly made threatening phone calls to the victim and claimed to be en route to the victim’s house, even though the victim had made it clear that Cleaver was unwelcome.

The victim described Cleaver’s car to the reporting officer, who stopped Cleaver as he was driving south on Bramble Drive, the police report said.

Cleaver identified himself but was unable to provide a driver's license. When police learned Cleaver's license had been suspended, they arrested Cleaver and searched his car, the report said.

Between the driver and passenger seats, police found a prescription bottle containing 20 pills that were later identified as Alprazolam and Lorazepam, which Cleaver said belonged to his girlfriend. They also discovered two bottles of Methadone, which was prescribed to Cleaver’s girlfriend.

The car also belonged to Cleaver’s girlfriend and was towed, the report said.
