K.I.D.S (Kids Into Donating & Serving) will hold a toy sale for new and gently used toys Aug. 25 to raise money for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network walk for food allergy in support of Team Kameron.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road, Romeoville.
Kameron was diagnosed with allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, milk, wheat, soy, and eggs when he was 18 months old. Today, Kameron is 5 and he has outgrown his allergies to wheat and soy. As many as 15 million Americans, including approximately 6 million children are affected by food allergies.
If you would like to donate and cannot attend the event, please contact kidsimpact@yahoo.com to arrange for pick up. Toys can be dropped off at the KIDS School Supply Event at the Friendship Centre on Aug 17. Last day to donate toys is Aug. 24.
The mission of FAAN is to raise public awareness, to provide advocacy and education, and to advance research on behalf of all those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis.
The mission of K.I.D.S is to provide a platform for kids to volunteer in philanthropic ventures in their community as well as globally. Members are given opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership skills.
