An Instagram photo taken by Terrance Rankins just two days before his death features two of the suspects who allegedly strangled him and another man on Jan. 10.
Rankins took the casual shot of what is reported to be Alisa Massaro and Adam Landerman sitting on what appears to be a bedroom floor and posted it to his Instagram profile page. A friend of Rankins' obtained the photo and supplied it to CBS 2-TV (Channel 2), which aired a story on it Tuesday night.
There is no context for what is happening in the photo. Massaro and Landerman are facing each other, and Landerman has a mirror in his lap and a blue mark on his cheek.

Massaro, 18, and Landerman, 19, both of Joliet, have been charged with first-degree murder in the strangulation deaths of Rankins and Eric Glover, who were identified by Joliet police as "social friends" of the people accused of killing them.
Also facing first-degree murder charges are Joshua Miner, 24, of Joliet, and Bethany McKee, 18, of Shorewood.
Police said last week that they believed the suspects wanted to rob Rankins and Glover. After they killed the two men in Massaro's 1121 N. Hickory St. home, the group continued to "party" and play videogames until officers -- acting on a tip -- showed up and took them into custody.
Although not much has been released about the murder scene or the suspects' actions before or after the alleged killings, Police Chief Mike Trafton said he believed their intent was to dismember the bodies and that the crime was the most horrific things he's experienced in his career.
