Two men face felony charges after the Will County Gang Suppression Unit seized two semi-automatic weapons and thousands of grams of cannabis and synthetic cannabis during a search of their unincorporated Joliet home.
Oudam Thou, 26, and Robert Thou, 22, of 1904 Hampton Court, are charged with manufacture/delivery of 2,000 to 5,000 grams of cannabis. Robert Thou is also charged with possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card.
Will County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said additional charges against the duo are pending the outcome of testing on the suspected synthetic cannabis, also known as K-2.
After a monthlong investigation, gang suppression officers executed a search warrant at the Plainfield Township home around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, seizing 8,460 grams of marijuana; 1,500 grams of suspected K-2; two semi-automatic handguns; $700 in cash and a 2007 Lexus, Hoffmeyer said.
The Will County Cooperative Assistance Team (CPAT), Romeoville and Joliet police assisted with the investigation and arrests, police said.
Both men appeared in Will County court Wednesday. Bond for each was set at $50,000.
